Are you interested in applying to Bergamo Montessori? Great! We are thrilled to have made an impression and we can’t wait to learn more about your child.
To ensure a seamless, stress-free application process, it is beneficial to apply early and understand each step of the application process. Here’s what you should know:
Contact Our Director of Admissions as Soon as Possible
It’s never too early to begin your child’s application process to Bergamo Montessori. First, contact our Director of Admissions, Sylvia Flood; you can do this by phone or email or by scheduling a tour on our website.
During this initial conversation, we will determine:
- Which campus you are interested in visiting
- Your child’s age
- What program you are interested in
- Schedule a date and time for your visit
After scheduling your tour with us, expect a follow-up, written confirmation for your scheduled time, date, and campus location.
You Can Apply Immediately After Your School Tour and Classroom Observation
Schedule a school tour with the Director of Admissions early on to expedite the application process. These tours are held most weekday mornings to give parents and guardians an in-depth presentation about our Montessori education. You will receive a guided tour of the school, and observe a classroom in action. (Adults only, please!)
After your classroom visit, our Director of Admissions will be happy to answer any of your questions. After our meeting, you will receive an email with a link to apply to our program online. This means you can apply the same day. Applying shortly after your tour is recommended, as space is limited and wait lists are common.
Requesting Classrooms and Teachers
If you wish to request a specific classroom or teacher, you may do so in your application. Please keep in mind that our goal is to have an even number of girls and boys, along with an even distribution of age groups within each classroom for maximum diversity.
If You Are Accepted: Secure Your Child’s Space
If you are accepted to Bergamo, you must return a tuition deposit for $800 within two weeks to secure your child’s placement in the school. This deposit is non-refundable and used toward your child’s final month’s tuition.
Looking Ahead: Preliminary Paperwork, Parent/Teacher Meeting, and Parent Orientation
It’s a good idea to be prepared for the paperwork we require during your child’s transitional period into Bergamo.
Upon the receipt of your deposit, registration paperwork is sent to your email to complete online. We will require important information—such as your child’s physician’s report (due 30 days after your child’s start date), insurance information, and emergency contact information.
You can also look forward to the parent/teacher meeting with your child, which is an opportunity to become acquainted with the classroom and teacher, ask any questions, and go over all the nitty-gritty details before your child starts school.
You will receive a parent handbook during your meeting and discuss the best strategies to acclimate your child to the school, which could include classroom and teacher visits with or without a parent.
