We offer music lessons through LaTour Studio after school at the Elementary level.
Brian LaTour is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and educator.
He has created original compositions for plays, television, film, radio, and online media including work for Apple, The Backstreet Boys, PBS, BCK WLD, and Sinagtala Productions. He has collaborated and shared the stage with many greats including Wayne Wallace, Pete Escovedo, Mic Gillette, Erykah Badu, Mike Johnston, Harley white Sr., and most recently Devon Evans – original member of Bob Marley and The Wailers.
Brian has traveled and performed throughout Europe and has played several of the largest music festivals in the world including SXSW in Austin, Texas, and Trans Musicales in Rennes, France. His family band, La Tour Soul, has been featured on radio programs in Berlin, Germany, and locally for Capital Public Radio. He has taught music classes for The Sacramento Ballet and worked as a guest accompanist at The Official School of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre in New York.
Brian was formerly a teacher and music director for the award-winning music ensemble at George Washington Carver High School, and he has also created and implemented programs to provide free of cost music classes in underserved communities through the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission.
He has taught music for Bergamo Montessori School and Woodland Montessori School for the past fifteen years, offering lessons in piano, guitar, double bass, cello, electric bass, drum set, and Latin Percussion.
Brian adheres strongly to the Montessori pedagogical approach of student-led learning and has worked to create a strong community of young musicians who are able to approach their craft with creativity, discipline, confidence, and cooperation.
