How did you learn about Montessori? – I first learned about Maria Montessori in an Early Childhood Education class at American River College in 1981.
Where did you take your training? – I trained at the Montessori Training Center of Minnesota (MTCM) and completed my training in 2012.
Any other degrees, schooling, or training of note? – I have a BS degree in Psychology and an AA degree in Child Development. I am a Certified California Naturalist and am trained to facilitate educator workshops for Project WILD and Project Learning Tree.
What do you love about Montessori? – In all honesty, I love everything about Montessori and being a Montessori guide. The opportunity to educate the whole child and the interconnectedness of Cosmic Education are two of my most favorite aspects of being a Montessori guide.
3 things you can’t live without – This is difficult to limit to just three things. Right this very moment, they would be my camera, a bird field guide, and my family.
Most favorite trip you’ve taken OR dream vacation – My favorite trip is to the North Coast ocean and redwoods, especially Humboldt County.
Favorite local treat – The Yolo Bypass (my home away from home)
One rule you live by – The Golden Rule – I always try my best to treat others the way that I would want to be treated.
