How did you learn about Montessori? – I learned about Montessori while looking for preschools for my daughter.
Where did you take your training? – I took my Primary Training at the Montessori Training Center of Minnesota in St. Paul, MN, and my Elementary Training at the Montessori Institute of Milwaukee in Milwaukee, WI.
Any other degrees, schooling, or training of note? – I have a B.S. Degree in Office Administration from Miami University, OH, and a Masters of Education from Loyola College in Baltimore, MD. Before working as a Montessori teacher, I worked at General Mills for 16 years. I also have music and theater training and have done many community and professional productions over the years. I play the piano, harp, guitar, ukulele, and the drums, and sing with the Davis Chorale, in Davis, CA.
What do you love about Montessori? – I love Montessori because it allows children to learn in a manner that honors their current stage of development and because it fosters independence and the ability to learn on their own and at their own pace.
